Gunky Gunther

Another Garbage Pail Kid concept of mine, I finished this drawing today, had him/her sketched out in that layout either in late February or early March 2013. I named him/her Gunky Gunther, Minnie Mouse. At 8:02 PM I posted a slightly corrected version of the drawing I posted at 6:49PM.

Doomed Dom

Another Garbage Pail Kid concept of mine, almost finished drawing him today. I named him Doomed Dom, his other name may be Freefall Paul, Screwed Jude, In Peril Gerald. His parachute has a big tear in it, and all kinds of junk is falling out, mostly forks, spoons, there's also a tin can and a mouse falling out. I still have to finish his parachute pack (those details require additional research) and the backdrop of the outspread land far below.

Shoe Horner

Another Garbage Pail Kid concept of mine, he's old school and good to go. This pint-sized GPK's tongue is stiff, long and shaped like a shoehorn/shoespoon, and that's what that man with the smelly feet is using him as. I named him Shoe Horner, ShoeSpoon Sean may be the second name for him.

Bobby Odor

Another new Garbage Pail Kid concept by me and drawn by me, I named him Bobby Odor, Funky Frank, Stinky Stan, Armpit Armand, Under Armand, Pollutin' Pete. I have other names for him which I'll post later. I sketched him out in early March 2013, got back to him today and almost finished the drawing. I'll finish it tomorrow, mostly the two people on the bus need to be finished, they're almost finished though.

Ensnarled Carl

Another new Garbage Pail Kid concept by me and drawn by me. I sketched this Garbage Pail Kid in February and March 2013.  I've named him Ensnarled Carl, Bob Wire, Snagged Sam/Sam Snagged. This drawing is almost finished, I just want to finish the two guard towers behind him and draw in the clouds in the sky more.

Going to post 5 new GPK concept drawings these days

I'm going to post 5 Garbage Pail Kids new concept drawings in the coming days, hopefully I'll have all 5 posted within May. The concepts date back consciously as far back as January or February 2012. I say consciously because I may have thought of many of these back in the 1980s when I was a kid.

I was so busy in April and over half of May that I didn't make time to finish drawing these Garbage Pail Kids which were already sketched months before. So I can't say that I took more time on these drawings than on the others, it's actually the same amount of time. But I did have more time to think about the concepts and the way I'm presenting them, however I already decided how they were going to be laid out back in February and March. I just had to finish drawing them. I'll post two of them today.

Update: I removed two of the GPK concepts that I posted in May, there are 5 from May on my blog now. 5 like from 1 GPK wax pack. The two that I removed, one of them was not seriously intended as a GPK concept (the condom GPK) while the other one is a cool drawing, but that character is more suited for a GPK profile on the back of a card, you know like the backs of Original 5th Series.

So be on the lookout for my new GPK concept drawings these days.

Spider-Man Black costume, 1996/2013

This was a drawing I drew in 1996, then I inked and colored it in early/mid 2013. Spider-Man in his black costume, which first appeared in 1984.

Another Spider-Man swinging work, January 2013

AmazingSpider-Man2014

this one was done entirely in January 2013 and based on a drawing from a panel from Amazing Spider-Man #300 (I bought my first Amazing Spider-Man issues in late 1986 or early 1987 just about 10 issues before #300).

Spider-Man Swingin'

AmazingSpider-Man2014

This one was mostly drawn in June 1996,  then in 2013 I drew a new version on top of the 1996 drawing, keeping only some elements of the 1996 drawing. I like a good Spider-Man drawing, transports me back to the 1980s and 1990s, and depending on the drawing, even back to before my time, the 70s and 60s. But my Spider-Man drawings take me to the 1980s and 1990s.

Abduct Ted

This is another new Garbage Pail Kids concept by me and drawn by me, he's a GPK that's been abducted by short gray aliens and taken aboard a UFO craft and is being dissected by the aliens, and they are surprised and disgusted to find all kinds of junk and undigested food inside him. This idea was inspired by my mostly past interest in the UFO phenomenon as well as the 1990s TV show the X-Files. It was partly inspired also by a Garbage Pail Kid from Original 10th Series that is being dissected by intelligent frogs. I thought of this idea and drew the layout and important details and named him "Abduct Ted" before Topps published a new GPK in Brand New Series 2 on a similar theme, the card named Abduct Jed/Take Ken: that GPK is a GPK that is being beamed up by a flying saucer, in the process his skeleton and insides are being sucked up while his skin and clothes are being left on the surface. I thought of mine before I saw theirs, and as you can see my concept is very different from that one. For his other name I may choose Dee Sected, Dissect Tad or Vinnie Section (from "vivisection").

I didn't submit this one to Topps yet and I may not. I'll post him on my Instagram @AlexGheorghiu right after I post him here.

Shane Smoking

This is another new Garbage Pail Kids concept by me and drawn by me, he's a chain-smoking GPK very different from the Original Series GPK that is most like him, which is an ash-tray-like GPK from Original 6th series. My concept is a GPK that is chain-smoking in the street, a big pile of cigarette butts covering his shoes, cigarette smoke filling the air like exhaust or factory smoke, people gagging in the background, pigeons falling from the sky, a little dog dropped from his feet as well. I named this GPK Shane Smoking/Pollutin' Pete (a name that I also used for another GPK, see my blog posts from March 2013)/Pollutin' Paul/Second-Hand Hank/Second-Hand Hal/Cancerous Ken/Hazardous Hal.

I haven't submitted him to Topps, I'm publishing him here and I'll post him on my Instagram @AlexGheorghiu probably today.
